Overview
Webflow is the only no-code website builder tool we use at Cantilever. Other No-Code website builders like Squarespace and Wix are too restrictive to our design methodology and have serious accessibility and performance problems. They produce poor markup which we can’t adjust. However, Webflow provides full control over the markup and it is possible to build accessible websites with it. Webflow is a professional-grade tool that we have made part of our ‣.
📏 Rules for Webflow
✅ Do…
- Pay close attention to the actual HTML markup delivered to the user. Use HTML attributes correctly.
- Make sure the site conforms to our ‣, just like a custom-coded site.
- Keep client sites in our workspace if the client has/will have Core Coverage.
- Keep our GitHub team organized cleanly by client and project.
- Use the Webflow CMS by default to handle all collection content. Invite the client to edit this content.
🚫 Don‘t…
- Use Webflow components that are not accessible unless absolutely necessary.
- Use Webflow themes, generally. Build in Webflow from scratch.
