Health Benefits

We provide health reimbursements through a QSEHRA which is managed by our payroll provider Gusto. This is a health reimbursement plan which you can use to pay for your insurance and other medical expenses tax-free. Employees who are eligible will submit receipts in Gusto.

The monthly allowance is $400 per month.

If you have health insurance through your spouse, you are not eligible to pass expenses through the QSEHRA pre-tax. The IRS says that you are eligible to pass expenses through post-tax, but Gusto currently does not allow this. Therefore, if you are covered by employer-sponsored health insurance through your spouse, you may not use the QSEHRA as well.

To be fair to employees in this situation, we will provide you the monthly $400 allowance as a bonus instead. It will be taxed accordingly so you will not net the full amount.

The QSEHRA kicks in as of your first full month on the job. So if you start on the 10th of June, you will not be eligible to submit invoices to it until July. Similarly, if you are covered by an employer sponsored plan, you will not receive the allowance until the close of the next month (August 1).
