Overview
The RACI framework is a tool used for clarifying roles and responsibilities within a project or organization:
- Responsible (R): The person who is supposed to “do the work”
- Accountable (A): The person who is ultimately in charge of the work being a success. The buck stops with them when it comes to the work.
- Consulted (C): Someone who provides input on the work
- Informed (I): Someone who is kept in the loop
All work must have a Responsible person and a single Accountable person. Sometimes that is the same person. Work can have any number of Consulted and Informed people, or none at all.
